Mount Gravatt (Brisbane, Queensland, Australia), November 12, 2023 – In the heart of Mount Gravatt, Queensland, rises an extraordinary architectural marvel that captivates the gaze of anyone passing by. It is not merely another telecommunications tower, it is the inaugural Mosaictower by Calzavara in Australia, a distinctive and captivating structure, an artwork that stands against the urban skyline, enriching the entire surrounding panorama.

We live in a digital era where cellular towers have become an inseparable part of the urban landscape. Despite their crucial role in ensuring reliable connectivity, their visual impact on the surrounding landscape is often overlooked. However, a new wave of projects is emerging, embracing a vision of architectural cell towers and giving rise to the Next-Gen Telecommunication Infrastructures designed to meet evolving urban integration needs, such as the Mosaictower of Mt Gravatt. This tower is designed to support the urban revitalization of Scurrs, transforming it into an iconic building housing health, medical and wellness services for the southern Brisbane community.

This project is a genuine labour of love, made possible through collaboration with exceptional partners, including P3 Projects Pty Ltd, a Brisbane based Property Developer of boutique commercial and residential real estate, and Solcomm Pty Ltd, our partner in Australia representing our subsidiary, Calzavara Australia.

Scurrs’ Mosaictower is a testament to how intercultural influence and architecture can transcend boundaries. It all began with the keen eye of Dario Pigozzo, Managing Director of P3 Projects, who, during a trip to Treviso, discovered in the historic Piazza Matteotti the Muranotower, another iconic structure by Calzavara, adorned with real Murano glass mosaic tiles. It’s 2019 and the Scurrs project has just kicked off. Dario Pigozzo had the vision that such a structure would deliver outstanding results to the Scurrs project, whilst viabilising the relocation of cellular antennas from the old Scurrs building to an adjacent architectural cell tower.

Thus, Scurrs’ Mosaictower was born, an iconic 30-meter architectural tower hosting multi-operator 5G antennas, providing enhanced cellular coverage throughout Mt Gravatt area.

Dario, Calzavara and the team have not merely constructed another telecommunications tower. Together, they have created a significant and visually pleasing landmark, destined to be appreciated for years to come.
