Basiliano, May 23, 2024 – The Calzavara Group concludes 2023 with an aggregate revenue of over 41 million euros, 83% of which was generated in Italy and the remaining 17% abroad. The company has hired 33 people, bringing the total number of employees to 152. «We are now focusing on Smart City and Artificial Intelligence – announces Massimo Calzavara, CEO of the group headquartered in Basiliano, with subsidiaries in Padua, Bologna, Milan, Rome, Turin, L’Aquila, and Marseille, France.

The telecommunications sector continues to benefit from the structural trend following the technological transition to 5G, the fifth generation of cellular technology which requires network densification, i.e., the installation of new structures and the enhancement of existing ones. «Among our 2023 projects, we count the first installation in Australia – shares the entrepreneur – an iconic 30-meter-high design tower, designed to host 5G antennas from multiple operators and provide advanced cellular coverage to Mount Gravatt, a suburban area of Brisbane».

«We are convinced that cities will evolve into ultra-connected urban centers, where telecommunications infrastructure will be the cornerstone for implementing new innovative services. This is the Smart City paradigm, where everything will be connected – explains Calzavara – from autonomous vehicles to intelligent objects such as sensors, cameras, and more. It is from this perspective that we are investing, and over the past 12 months, we have acquired two companies: T.R.C. S.r.l., specializing in the design, construction, and maintenance of Tetra networks, critical communication networks used by law enforcement, emergency services, public transport, and other organizations requiring reliable communications; and Lightspeed S.r.l., an innovative start-up in the field of computer vision and video analysis. We are confident that Artificial Intelligence applications to images and video streams will be crucial for developing innovative solutions in the Smart City domain».

Marco Marcuzzi, CFO of Calzavara, highlighted the company’s excellent financial management despite global economic challenges: «2023 has been a year of consolidating the Group’s growth, which, for the first time in its 58-year history, surpasses 40 million euros in revenue and 5.5 million euros in EBITDA. 2023 will be remembered for inorganic growth through M&A operations. With the acquisition of TRC and Lightspeed, the Group embraces new geographic and business markets, as well as welcoming 15 new resources to its workforce».

The goal for 2024 is to expand its international presence to achieve an aggregate revenue of 50 million euros.
